Off to the Himalayas of India
Our stay in New Delhi was brief. We were up early, boarded our cycle rickshaws and headed to our bus. Once on board we made our way through the unusually quiet morning streets of Delhi before arriving at the airport to board our flight to Bagdogra. Bagdogra is the closest airport to Darjeeling and sits at the base of the mountain.
From Bagdogra, four vehicles tooks us on a 4-hour winding drive as we climbed the mountains making our way to the enchanting town of Darjeeling. A brief stop half way for some tea and snacks, before continuing our journey. We finally arrived after a long day of travel at our gorgeous hotel in Darjeeling. Everybody is delighted to be here and to spend the next 4-nights in quiet retreat amidst the Himalayas on the Indian side.
