A Palace Dinner in Samode
Day 8: Dinner at Samode Palace.
It’s not every day that one gets to dine in a real Palace. Though we were staying at the Maharaja’s summer retreat, his royal highness’s palace was only a 10-minute drive away. So on our second night in Samode I decided to take the group to the palace for dinner. No white horses to take us there but open air jeeps which we all climbed into and headed off on dusty roads till we arrived at the massive walls and entrance doorway that led to the palace.
What a surprise it was to our group. We were guided into the palace and then toured around the main gathering rooms that were spectacular in every way. Intricately designed and painted. They were fit for royalty for sure. This was followed by dinner in the main dining hall of the palace.
