Designing the entrance to the Spiritual Sanctuary
Designing the entrance to the Spiritual Sanctuary

We continue our update on our spiritual sanctuary in Costa Rica project.

A while back I asked one of my oldest and closest friend, Tim Davies, if he would help me with my project of building a spiritual sanctuary in Costa Rica. He immediately said yes. He flew 30 hours to be here with us to begin the initial work on the sanctuary. Tim owns and runs an award winning landscaping company, Tim Davies Landscaping, in West Australia for the last 30 years. Today I realized why he’s an amazing landscaper. He laid out the 200 meter (660 feet) driveway of the sanctuary in such a beautiful and graceful way. We worked on it for 2 days and this morning he just nailed it. Thank you Tim. We’ve designed the driveway to be canopied by beautiful jacaranda trees that will make an arch of purple flowers as guests drive down it. The end of the driveway pulls up next to a giant Banyan tree and a grove of Delonix Regia trees that are covered entirely in red blooms during the end of the dry season (April-May).

Tim gets very resourceful. He takes a long stick, cleans and cuts it to the length he wants and we use it to help us measure the entrance driveway.

The stick comes in very handy. Tim is very particular about the distance between the trees and the little details.

Finally we stake a couple of hundred flags to mark out the long driveway.
